If you were one of the many people who had high hopes for Bayley when she was first called up to the main roster from NXT you’re not alone. If you still believe in The Hugger even though she seems to be in a slump then you’re not alone either.
Bayley might have her fair share of doubters but plenty of people are still on her side and want nothing more than to see her succeed.
Bayley was featured on Main Event this week where she defeated Sonya Deville in the opening contest. This show which is filmed before Raw every week and now airs on Hulu Plus might be looked at as secondary programming in the WWE Universe but Bayley doesn’t see it that way at all.
She’s apparently been getting some grief from haters about the fact she was on Main Event but The Hugger wanted to set the record straight about her appearance on the program. First off, Bayley won her match which is always a great thing and she made that point ultimately clear. Can you imagine how bad the signs would have been for Bayley if she appeared on Main Event and lost to Sonya Deville? She also pointed out the fact that any chance she gets to be in the ring is a good thing.
If Bayley needs to start gaining momentum by winning on Main Event, then so be it. The fact is she needs to do something because her career is headed toward a crossroads of sorts where she could go any direction.
WWE hasn’t done the best job of portraying her in the past by presenting her as a fangirl who is living the dream but can’t quite hang with the other women when put to the test. At least when she was shown like that in NXT she emerged with the NXT Women’s Championship and held onto it for 233 days until Asuka dethroned her.
