Friday night at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn II Bayley challenged Asuka for the NXT Women’s Championship but she failed to win the title.
Sunday night at WWE SummerSlam Sasha Banks defended her WWE Women’s Championship against Charlotte, and Charlotte walked out with the belt. It was later announced that Sasha Banks will be out of action for while due to a back injury.
Charlotte made her way to the ring on Raw with Dana Brooke, and she bragged about putting Sasha Banks on the shelf. She said that there was no one else in the division that was worthy of challenging her and then Mick Foley’s music hit.
Mick Foley made his way to the ring and announced that he had signed the hottest free agent in all of sports entertainment. Mick then looked toward the entrance ramp and Bayley’s music hit.
Bayley challenged Charlotte for the WWE Women’s Championship. Charlotte then told her she would have to go through Dana Brooke, Mick Foley said it was a fair compromise and that she would have to face Dana Brooke in her debut on Raw.
Bayley defeated Dana Brooke with a belly-to-belly suplex.
