We reported a few weeks ago that Batista isn’t booked for any WWE events after Extreme Rules and he will be leaving WWE for a while to take time off after the pay-per-view. According to PWInsider WWE wanted to book Daniel Bryan vs. Batista as the main event for Payback with Daniel Bryan coming out with the victory.
According to their report Batista was less than thrilled with this outcome and felt that losing to Daniel Bryan after he tapped out to him at WrestleMania XXX wouldn’t make him look very good when he went to go do promotion for his upcoming film Guardians of the Galaxy.
WWE officials had originally planned on Batista taking time off after Payback to promote his movie but it’s said that if he doesn’t want to comply with the Daniel Bryan storyline then WWE just doesn’t have anything for him after Extreme Rules. Batista is still expected to return in time for SummerSlam.
