Batista Doesn’t Want To Be Compared To The Rock Or John Cena

On Monday Night Raw this week former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Batista made his return to TV, and he sent a message to Triple H when he attacked Ric Flair.

It seems that Batista is trying to provoke Triple H and set up a WrestleMania face off. It’s been a few years since The Animal has wrestled at the Show of Shows, and that’s because he’s been busy focusing on a different career.

Dave Bautista has found success as an actor, but he told the Tampa Bay Times that he doesn not want to be compared to John Cena.

“Do not compare me to The Rock or John Cena. Everyone does it. Those guys are wrestlers who became movie stars. I’m … something else. I was a wrestler. Now, I’m an actor.”

He went on to say that he’s not interested in taking on some of the roles that Cena and Rock take on, and he has different goals when it comes to his acting career.

“Rock was, in a way, a movie star before he was even a movie star. There is something about him that’s really special. I’d never take that away from him. Would I consider him a great actor? F— no. I want good roles. I don’t care about Fast and Furious or Bumblebee. … That’s not the kind of stardom I want. … I want to be in Dune. I want to work with Denis Villeneuve. I want to work with Sam Mendes and Jodie Foster. I want to work with Academy Award winners. I’m proud to be a character actor. I want that respect and credibility and education.”

Even though he has goals for his acting career, it seems that The Animal is going to be with us on the road to WrestleMania.
