It’s been a few years since fans have seen Batista inside a WWE ring, but he’s been keeping busy. Plenty of people have seen Batista on the big screen over the past few weeks as he steals the show in “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” as Drax.
The former WWE World Champion recently revealed that he pitched an idea for a feud with Triple H that would eventually lead to his retirement match. However, apparently no one in WWE is interested in making that happen, as they didn’t buy in to his pitch.
Batista doesn’t keep up with wrestling like he used to, but he’s still aware of the current crop of talent in WWE, and during a recent appearance on Talk Is Jericho, Batista praised former WWE Champion Bray Wyatt (via Wrestling Inc).
“I haven’t watched in a long time, but, yeah, I was watching kind of once in a while. Well, the new guys that I did like, they’re not really new anymore. Bray Wyatt. I thought he was incredible. I love everything about that kid.”
Over the course of his WWE career Batista worked with some of the biggest names in the industry, but he said that Bray Wyatt is at the top of his list of names he would’ve loved to have worked with.
“I would’ve loved to have worked with him. Yeah, and super athletic. He can go! I love that kid. He can run his mouth too. And personally I just like him.” Batista observed, “[there is] nothing real pretentious about him. He just wants to work and have good matches and I think he’s super talented. But he’d be at the top of my list.”
It sounds like Bray Wyatt and Batista could have potentially had a good feud during Batista’s last run with the company, but unfortunately at this point it looks unlikely that we’ll ever see them collide.
