WWE has been going through major changes ever since it was revealed that the WWE Board of Directors is investigating hush money payments linked to Vince McMahon and John Laurinaitis. Vince recently retired, and PWInsider reported yesterday that Laurinaitis has been fired.
Fightful Select reports that they were told repeatedly by staff and talent that they don’t expect Laurinaitis to be brought back. It was also noted that several talents outright admitted they were excited that he’s gone and they won’t have to deal with him moving forward. One top WWE star reportedly referred to John Laurinaitis as “the biggest snake in the business.”
Even though Laurinaitis has been fired he’s still looped in to company emails. He had been included in a series of emails that go out to a wide array of names with WWE, but that changed when he was no longer included with the July 22 episode of SmackDown. He returned to the lists the following week and has remained on the lists, but it’s being said that this is somewhat common when it comes to recent WWE departures, and his email may no longer be active.
An internal termination list included the names of John Laurinaitis and Vince McMahon. Stay tuned for more updates as they becomre available.
