Backstage Reaction To Stephanie McMahon’s Return At WrestleMania 40

WrestleMania was once again a two night event this year and night one kicked off with Triple H welcoming everyone to the big show. Night two kicked off with another big promo as Stephanie McMahon made her surprise return.

Fightful Select reports that Stephanie McMahon’s promo was kept very quiet internally and was actually listed as a Triple H promo on run sheets. It was also noted that Stephanie has long had a positive reputation within WWE and she was welcomed backstage by many.

PWInsider is reporting that Stephanie McMahon has not returned to WWE as an employee or executive in any way. Stephanie made an appearance at WrestleMania 40 to give the audience one more thing they didn’t expect. People who spoke on the situation noted that this was seen as Stephanie putting her own personal stamp of approval on what the company is doing with WWE’s new era.

Following night two of WrestleMania 40, Triple H commented on Stephanie’s return during the post-show press conference and said that she belongs with WWE.

“So great to have her back home. I get her home all the time, but to have her back here, to see the doubt leave her by being here for the last few days, to see her confidence come back, and to know that this is her home. All of you, all of us, all this business – it’s her home. And as much as anybody on the planet, she belongs here. And hopefully she knows that now. So, happy to have her back.”
