WWE recently announced that Paul Heyman and Eric Bischoff will be working as the Executive Directors of Raw and SmackDown Live respectively, and the announcement has created interest in the product among the wrestling community.
Heyman has been working with WWE for some time now, but Eric Bischoff has been out of the fold for a number of years.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that nobody knows Eric Bischoff’s ideas just yet because he’s probably just coming to grips with them.
One person involved noted that Eric Bischoff has even less knowledge of the modern project then feared, but that doesn’t necessarily mean he can’t learn and adapt in order to be successful.
Many questioned Eric Bischoff getting the role, as it’s seen as a sink-or-swim position with SmackDown Live moving to FOX.
However, Bischoff has advantages to succeed as he has the credentials when it comes to running a wrestling show, and Wall Street has largely praised the move.
Bischoff is expected to move to Stamford, CT with his family next week, and he’s set to start with SmackDown Live at the 7/16 show.
