After weeks of hype the first episode of AEW Collision aired live from the United Center in Chicago on Saturday night, and CM Punk made his long awaited return to the ring.
PWInsider reports that the reaction to the first show backstage was pretty much positive across the board. It’s also being said that the feeling was Collision hit the mark when it came to trying to feel different from Dynamite.
Merchandise reportedly moved so well during the Collision taping that most of the merchandise had been sold out by the time the show went off the air. CM Punk merchandise topped sales for the show.
It’s also being reported that Ace Steel was in attendance and watched the show from the Chicago Blackhawks family box. It’s believed that Steel was not backstage before the show as he traveled to Collision this week on his own accord. Ace Steel has been producing and helping with creative remotely.
