Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that the decision to bring back War Games was a late decision. Original plans for the show called for Drew McIntyre to defend his NXT Championship against Adam Cole, and for SAnity to defend the NXT Tag Team Titles against Kyle O’Reilly and Bobby Fish. You can read about plans for the upcoming War Games match below, but please be aware that if you continue you will be subjected to mild spoilers.
Still here? Ok, let’s do this.
The War Games match at NXT TakeOver: WarGames will feature SAnity vs. The Undisputed Era vs. The Authors of Pain and Roderick Strong.
This will be the first time that the War Games match has been used since an episode of WCW Monday Nitro in 2000.
NXT TakeOver: WarGames will air live on the WWE Network on November 18.
