Seth Rollins surprised everyone Saturday night when he showed up at NXT Takeover: San Antonio and called out Triple H. Rollins has been feuding with Triple H for months now, but Triple H has been avoiding him ever since he screwed him out of winning the Universal Title in August of 2016.

It’s possible that there could be more interaction between the two stars tonight at the Royal Rumble, but Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that the NXT Takeover angle was originally supposed to be the angle that set up their match at WrestleMania 33. Meltzer said that it would have been better if Seth Rollins did something to make Triple H accept a match at WrestleMania, but it was noted that there’s still time to make that happen.
Tonight’s Royal Rumble pay-per-view will be loaded with commentators. Jerry Lawler is set to return to the commentary table during the Royal Rumble match, and other names such as Mauro Ranallo will also be lending their voice to the pay-per-view.
Mauro Ranallo noted on Twitter that tonight he will be calling the Cruiserweight Championship match, the six woman tag team match, and the WWE Championship match.
