Last night on SmackDown Live, Bobby Roode made his main roster debut with a victory over Aiden English. There have been rumors going around Roode’s move to the blue brand since he lost the NXT Championship to Drew McIntyre at NXT Takeover: Brooklyn III last Saturday.

According to CageSideSeats, “The Glorious One” will be featured on SmackDown Live, but he will also stay on NXT for awhile longer to finish his run with the brand. Going forward, Roode is expected to be a huge babyface on the main roster despite being booked as a heel in NXT.
Roode’s match against English seems to be a clear indication that WWE officials are embracing him as a top babyface for SmackDown Live. The Brooklyn crowd was bound to give him a huge reaction for his debut and Roode was always on the cusp anyway in NXT.
It’s unclear what his creative plans will be heading into the fall, but Bobby Roode is expected to receive a massive push on SmackDown Live while he finishes up in NXT over the next few weeks. As a babyface, there are many strong heels for Roode to work with going forward.
