The stars of Raw and SmackDown Live will be going head to head at Survivor Series, and this week on Raw most of the card was officially announced. Brock Lesnar accepted Jinder Mahal’s challenge for a match at the event, and it looks like a special guest referee could be thrown into the mix.
It was recently reported by PWInsider that John Cena could end up being the special guest referee, but apparently there are other names in the mix as well.
Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that the decision to add Cena to the match is not set in stone at this time. However, it was noted that adding Cena to the match would make sense, as it would set up a feud with Jinder Mahal in the future.
Meltzer didn’t mention the names, but said that they may not want to be part of the match, so John Cena may end up getting the spot if they can’t get someone else. WWE wants a referee who would be intriguing to Universal Champion Brock Lesnar.
