Backstage News On Possible Debuts And Returns At The Royal Rumble

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter there are several possible names from NXT who are likely to debut at the Royal Rumble. Samoa Joe is one name that is mentioned, but this rumor is hardly new. There has been talk of Samoa Joe debuting for quite some time now due to the fact he’s been excluded from NXT Takeover: San Antonio, and he is more than ready.

It’s also being reported that Shinsuke Nakamura and Tye Dillinger are also likely debuts as well. In regards to Tye Dillinger possibly debuting, there are some who think there will be negative reaction from the crowd if he doesn’t debut in the number 10 spot.

Bobby Roode is said to be a lock to win the NXT Title sometime in the near future, but at this time it doesn’t look like the company has anyone set up to challenge him, so Nakamura vs. Roode could continue. It’s not known if Shinsuke will be making the jump to the main roster just yet, but it’s worth noting that Nakamura and Samoa Joe have been added to WrestleMania Axxess signings with the main roster stars.

If Finn Balor is cleared this week, it’s possible fans very well might see Finn Balor once again at the Royal Rumble. It was noted that Finn Balor could be positioned as the top face on Raw going forward.
