Backstage News On WWE’s Reaction To Money In The Bank

Originally Money in the Bank was set to take place from Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, but the event was moved to the smaller MGM Grand Arena and it aired live on Saturday night.

Fightful Select is reporting that despite the move to a smaller venue the event was still seen as a big success. The report noted that WWE executives received an update touting that the show was the most viewed Money in the Bank ever, and the second highest gate in the history of MITB.

It was also noted that merchandise sales were up 95 percent from the 2021 Money in the Bank premium live event which is the highest in the history of the show.

Money in the Bank kicked off with the women’s Money in the Bank ladder match which saw Liv Morgan pick up the win. Liv Morgan later cashed in on Ronda Rousey and won the SmackDown Women’s Championship. Theory won the men’s Money in the Bank and he has teased that he’ll be cashing in at SummerSlam.
