There was a lot of hype leading up to the AEW All Out pay-per-view on Sunday night as it was rumored that Bryan Danielson would be making his debut with All Elite Wrestling.
Bryan Danielson did indeed make his debut after the main event, but moments before Bryan made an appearance former NXT Champion Adam Cole debuted and made his way down to the ring to support The Elite.
Fightful Select reports that Adam Cole’s AEW debut did not come as a major surprise to many people in WWE. The report noted that people within WWE expected Cole to sign with AEW as of last weekend.
WWE had reportedly been operating under the assumption that Adam Cole was gone after an internal memo was sent out on August 30. It was also noted that people in WWE had nothing but good things to say about Adam Cole and the way he handled his contract situation with the expiration and the extension.
Cole did not tell anyone in WWE about his AEW debut, and he was hidden prior to his appearance at All Out on Sunday. Cole’s deal with AEW was not made official until Sunday, but it’s being said that people who needed to know about Cole joining the company were told ahead of time.
