It’s been a rough year for Roman Reigns. He won the Royal Rumble, main evented WrestleMania and even won the WWE Championship at Survivor Series. Although that all sounds well and good, he’s been met with major resistance with the fans along the way, so the crowd hasn’t exactly supported his accomplishments. But WWE is hoping to see that change.
It’s been reported before that Reigns was set to win the title at Survivor Series. However the plan to have Sheamus cash in was something that was decided only hours before the show began. Some fans see Roman Reigns as the “corporate” champion because they know the company has picked him to be the next face of the WWE. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE is hoping to change the public’s perception of Reigns by having him feud with The Authority.
They’re hoping that as The Authority continues to hold Roman Reigns down and keep him from the title that it will get the fans to fully support him and create an interest in seeing him hold the title. WWE still wants to go all in with Roman Reigns as the face of the company. But they want the fans to cheer him when they pull the trigger.
Why are WWE trying to dictate who becomes the big-superface. Austin, Rock, Foley, Taker, HBK, Bret, Hogan, Savage, Warrior, Cena, Batista….. they all became uber-faces because the crowds and fans got behind them and insisted they be pushed to the top. When did the WWE stop listening to the fans and dictate who should be “the guy”.
Because vince lost the plot absolutely years ago.otherwise the authority would not even exist on tv in the first place.wwe used to have old women giving birth to hands and people squirting beer or milk out of huge trucks.now it’s just roman or cena talk talk talk I hate the authority and a 2 second Diva match in the middle for good measure.the fact all recent wwe games have focused on attitude era kinda prices the modern era suck with far too few big names.during attitude era even people like blue meanie got cheered heck even cameramen got cheered.now it’s all pg rubbish with no comedy no violence so what’s left is wwe trying to sell merchandise by forcing fans to like who they have new merchandise of rather than just writing good scripts and treating everyone equal.id much rather watch the lower and mid card these days.anyone other than the top few names would make a great champion.stardust ziggler Curtis axel ry back cesaro if he wasn’t injured Damien Sandow and many more. I’d genuinely be excited if any of those won and was half excited sheamus.its cashed in as compared to reigns rollins or lesnar he is different in terms of he’s not on the front of all magazines spotters etc he has little merchandise so he’s no a corporate champion.lesnar was getting paid more to be champ and not show up than the entire mid card get paid in a month if they combined all their wages lesnar still got more for 1 night just being champ and never showing up.even when he does show up all he does is suplex people and I was so over that in his first wwe run now he’s like meh who cares.the first and last segments of raw are the real nail in the coffin along with how they treat women compared to nxt and tna in fact compared to every company out there
