EC3 has been on the main roster for months now, but he has struggled to find a spot on the card.
It seemed that business was picking up for EC3 a few months ago, as he kicked off a feud with Dean Ambrose when he beat Ambrose in a quick match on Raw.
Jon Moxley recently opened up about the feud on the Talk Is Jericho podcast, and he noted how it backfired, because the quick loss to EC3 only made fans cheer for him even though he was a heel.
Bryan Alvarez speculated on Wrestling Observer Radio that since Dean Ambrose got cheered while he was feuding with EC3, and Dean was supposed to be a heel, the company could be punishing EC3 due to the crowd reactions.
Dave Meltzer responded by saying, “that’s 100% what happened.”
After EC3 beat Dean Ambrose in two minutes, Ambrose got his win back when he defeated EC3 the next week.
EC3 hasn’t done much since, although he has been appearing in segments involving the WWE 24/7 Title recently on Raw.
