Fans have seen a number of former WWE stars return to the company in recent months which means quite a few contracts have been negotiated. Under the previous regime it sounds like the idea of potentially utilizing a no cut clause was brought up, but Vince McMahon shot the idea down.
Fightful Select reports that Vince McMahon was not in favor of adding a no cut clause to WWE contracts even though people in the front office were. People in the front office also claimed that WWE President and Chief Revenue Officer Nick Khan seemed open to the idea.
However, Vince McMahon was said to have been vehemently against the idea of a no cut clause, and he had the final say. One person chalked up Vince’s decision to the former CEO being stuck in his ways.
The lack of a no cut clause didn’t cost WWE any potential free agents, but there were reportedly some who had asked about it. Most talent who have spoken about Nick Khan have had positive things to say. Khan’s method of management has been praised as he’s someone who thinks outside the box as opposed to always being stuck in WWE traditions.
