Now that Money in the Bank has come and gone all eyes are looking ahead to WWE SummerSlam, and we’re only weeks away from the big premium live event. So far no matches have officially been announced for the show, but it looks like WWE already has most of the card mapped out.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that even though the match hasn’t been announced yet the current plan is for Finn Balor to challenge Seth Rollins for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship again at SummerSlam.
According to the report this is why Finn Balor scored pins over Sami Zayn and Carmelo Hayes on Raw and NXT this week. It seems that the idea is to build Balor back up to make him look like a serious contender for Seth’s belt.
The WWE World Heavyweight Championship match and build to the match is also expected to continue the story with Finn Balor and Damian Priest. It’s expected that things will heat up in the weeks to come because the match hasn’t officially been announced yet.
SummerSlam will air live from Ford Field in Detroit, MI on Saturday, August 5. Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
