WWE premium live events are usually the culmination of several weeks of storylines playing out on TV, and over the last few years fans have noticed that the company has taken a much more story driven approach when it comes to their product. This has resulted in less matches being featured on premium live events and it doesn’t sound like WWE will be making changes to the format anytime soon.
Fightful Select is reporting that shorter cards for WWE premium live events are expected to continue as WWE officials have been happy with the way they’ve turned out.
When asking about the reasons for the shorter cards the response was that they work for the company because it allows them to stack Raw and SmackDown. This approach has said to have been especially useful when SmackDown is held in the same city as a PLE that’s set to take place the following night.
