Back in February, The Rock made his big return to WWE programming and he made it clear that he wanted Cody Rhodes to be his champion. The Rock confronted The American Nightmare at Elimination Chamber, and Cody Rhodes told The Final Boss to “go f***” himself.
John Cena then proceeded to turn heel as he teamed up with The Rock and Travis Scott to beat down Cody Rhodes as the show went off the air. In recent weeks John Cena has been making appearances on WWE programming, but there’s been no follow up regarding The Rock and Travis Scott’s involvement with his heel turn.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that Travis Scott is currently factored into the plans for WrestleMania 41. In regards to The Rock’s status for the show it’s being said that everyone presumes he’ll be there in some form on the day of the show, but it hasn’t been confirmed to anyone, so it’s possible that WWE is keeping his appearance a secret.
The uncertainty regarding The Rock’s status is said to be the reason why his name has barely been mentioned on WWE programming in recent weeks. However, it was noted that the original plan was likely going to be The Rock helping John Cena win the WWE Championship.
