It’s been a big year for Cody Rhodes as rumors of his WWE return immediately started to circulate after he announced that he was parting ways with All Elite Wrestling. The American Nightmare did indeed return at WrestleMania 38 back in April, and he picked up a big win over Seth Rollins on the Grandest Stage of Them All.
Cody’s feud with Seth Rollins continued for months, but unfortunately Cody was written off TV so that he could take time off to undergo surgery due to a torn pectoral muscle.
Prior to taking time off Cody was receiving a big push, and it looks like he’s still being factored into future plans. Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men podcast recently commented on Cody’s status and he noted that there are “a lot of plans” for Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania next year.
Details on what those plans are have not been revealed, but it seems that the company is already planning ahead for Cody’s WrestleMania match.
When Cody’s injury was first announced it was said that he could be out of action for up to nine months which means he could make a big return in time for WrestleMania season. Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
