AJ Styles returned to the ring at the Royal Rumble earlier this month and he was recently moved to Monday Night Raw. The Phenomenal One is back in a big way as he has seemingly been eyeing Bron Breakker’s WWE Intercontinental Championship in recent weeks.
It seems that WWE has been building toward an AJ Styles vs. Bron Breakker match, but another opponent is reportedly being considered for WrestleMania 41. During a recent episode of Sportskeeda’s Live Q&A Backstage Pass, WrestleVotes noted that AJ Styles could end up facing off against Finn Balor at the Showcase of the Immortals.
“I could see it, I don’t think it will happen [Dominik Mysterio vs. Finn Balor]. I’ve heard potentially AJ Styles, if it’s not Bron Breakker, for Finn in a singles match, first time ever at WrestleMania. As we reported last week, I do believe the undercard is still being worked on…I think a lot of shuffling is still going on there.”
Finn Balor and AJ Styles certainly aren’t strangers as they’ve faced off in three different singles match in WWE. Whether or not this match will end up happening on the Grandest Stage of Them All remains to be seen as WrestleMania 41 is still two months away which means a lot can change in the weeks to come.
So far only two matches have been announced for the card as it’s been confirmed that Jey Uso will be challenging Gunther for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, and Charlotte Flair will be challenging Tiffany Stratton for the WWE Women’s Championship.
