Brock Lesnar appeared on Monday Night Raw this week and he came face to face with MVP on the VIP Lounge. The Beast confirmed that he will be facing Omos at WrestleMania, but it sounds like several other opponents were pitched for the Universal Champion.

Fightful Select reports that after the new WWE regime took over towards the summer or fall of 2022 Steve Austin was approached about the possibility of facing Brock Lesnar. Austin declined and was offered a match with Roman Reigns. It’s being said that there was a disparity in pay as the money Austin was offered for the Lesnar match was nowhere near what he was offered for the Reigns match.

In the fall internal documents had Brock Lesnar vs. Gunther scheduled for WrestleMania with that listed as the plan as of November 21. There’s no word on why that match was nixed, but it’s being said that by the time rumors of Gunther vs. Lesnar starting making the rounds online the match was already off the table. Plans for Gunther have been in place for months and the match with Lesnar was not considered for an extended period of time.

Bobby Lashley vs. Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania was also considered, and there’s no word on why WWE didn’t move forward with that plan. Bray Wyatt was also pitched for Lesnar, but Wyatt will now be facing Bobby Lashley. Sources close to the situation claim that Brock Lesnar nixed the idea of a match with Wyatt, but it’s not clear why.

Brock Lesnar is currently set to face Omos at WrestleMania and it’s being said that Brock personally approved the match. WrestleVotes recently indicated that Vince McMahon pushed for Lesnar vs. Omos at WrestleMania, and while Fightful couldn’t confirm that was the case sources close to Lesnar have said that “could be true.” However, sources in creative have said that it wasn’t a Vince McMahon decision, and that Vince hasn’t had direct contact with creative.
