Matt Riddle has had a good year in WWE so far as his tag team with Randy Orton was quite popular and he also managed to capture championship gold as one half of RK-Bro. However, Riddle was recently destroyed by Solo Sikoa on Raw and it was later reported that Riddle had been written off TV. WWE confirmed that Riddle is expected to miss six weeks of in-ring action.

Original plans for Matt Riddle over the summer called for him to face Seth Rollins at SummerSlam, but the match was instead pushed back to Clash at the Castle. It was reported that WWE was going in a new creative direction, but Cassidy Haynes of Bodyslam.net is reporting that the match was pushed back because Riddle failed a drug test. Riddle was reportedly told at the time that another failed test would lead to a “rehab or fired” situation similar to what the company did with Jeff Hardy.
It’s not being reported that Riddle has been written off TV for six weeks because he failed another drug test and the company is sending him to rehab. The belief is that he has already entered treatment or will be going in soon.
Details on what came up on the drug test were not disclosed, but it was noted that WWE no longer tests for marijuana.
