WWE has released some shocking names so far in 2021, and fans were surprised when it was reported on Thursday that the company had released former NXT Champion Karrion Kross.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter Vince McMahon had recently pulled Karrion Kross from TV because he felt that Kross wasn’t getting over with the fans. It was also noted that people within the company were told Kross was going to be repackaged a third time.
Karrion Kross was quickly established as one of the top stars in NXT shortly after he joined the brand, but he was beaten twice after he debuted on the main roster.
Kross was repackaged with new ring gear and a new gimmick after his debut, but Vince McMahon reportedly decided that the new gimmick didn’t click. Karrion’s fiancee Scarlett Bordeaux was also released on Thursday in addition to 16 other talents.
