At WrestleMania 38 fans saw Edge form and alliance with Damian Priest, and the group came to be known as The Judgement Day. They went on to recruit Rhea Ripley then Edge teased more recruits in the weeks that followed. Finn Balor joined the group on Monday Night Raw this week, but Edge was removed from the group after Balor, Ripley and Priest turned on the Hall of Famer and attacked him.
Fightful Select reports that WWE wanted to take The Judgement Day in a more supernatural route, which is something that Edge was opposed to. In the hours leading up to Raw word started making the rounds that a big shift was set to happen with Edge and Finn Balor.
Plans for the change were set on Monday. However, the idea to have Finn Balor join the group was reportedly decided on well before that, and as of last week Balor was set for the group, but at that point there was no talk of Edge leaving.
Following the betrayal angle on Raw it was reported that Edge has been moved back to the babyface side of the roster. There’s been no word on whether or not turning Edge face was a reactionary move to Cody Rhodes getting injured, but it seems that WWE wanted to take The Judgement Day in a different direction.
