A few months ago Daniel Bryan challenged Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship on the April 30 episode of Friday Night SmackDown with the stipulation being that Bryan would be banished from the blue brand if he were to lose.
Daniel Bryan did indeed lose the match, and it was reported shortly after that his WWE contract had expired. Bryan has yet to return to WWE programming, but there’s been a lot of speculation about his status as WWE has been name dropping the former champion recently.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that WWE mentioning Daniel Bryan isn’t an indication that he will be coming back. WWE continues to mention Daniel Bryan to help the build for Roman Reigns vs. Edge at Money in the Bank. The idea is that Bryan is the reason why Edge failed to win the Universal Title at WrestleMania 37.
As far as Bryan’s plans moving forward go it’s being reported that no one really knows what he’s doing, and if he has made a deal with another company then it’s being kept secret for a possible big reveal.
