CM Punk returned to the world of professional wrestling a few months ago when he joined WWE Backstage as an analyst, but it’s important to note that Punk’s contract is with FOX, not WWE.
The former WWE Champion recently named several opponents he would like to face under the right circumstances, but it doesn’t sound like WWE officials are interested in bringing him back.
During Wrestling Observer Radio Dave Meltzer was asked about CM Punk’s contract status with FOX, and he noted that he doesn’t know the length of the deal, but he believes that the contract requires Punk to work one show a month.
He went on to say that the company is pretty negative on the idea of CM Punk wrestling. again Meltzer added that the feeling is that between Goldberg, Edge and Undertaker they’ve got their fair share of big name guys.
It was noted that there’s a lot of bitterness from WWE, and seemingly more bitterness from WWE’s side than Punk’s side.
