Fans have seen quite a few talents part ways with WWE recently, as the company released a number of stars last week due to coronavirus related budget cuts. It was also recently reported that former Cruiserweight Champion Drew Gulak has parted ways with the company after his contract expired last week.
Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that Drew Gulak was trying to get a raise in his new WWE contract, but he was denied it. The company then decided to pull the original contract they offered to him and negotiations were completely called off.
Gulak made his WWE debut in 2016 and was featured as part of the cruiserweight division. Recently he’s been featured in a prominent storyline with Daniel Bryan on SmackDown.
His last WWE match took place on SmackDown on Friday night where he was defeated by Daniel Bryan in the Intercontinental Title tournament. Drew Gulak’s contract reportedly expired after the tapings.
Since his contract expired he doesn’t have a 90 day non-compete clause, so he’s free to go wherever he wants.
