WWE will be heading back to Saudi Arabia for Crown Jewel on Thursday, October 31 and it was announced on Friday that Brock Lesnar vs. Cain Velasquez and Braun Strowman vs. Tyson Fury will both take place at the event.
Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that Mohammad bin Salman, the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, wanted Tyson Fury to compete at Crown Jewel.
The Saudi Arabia shows are big money events, so it’s likely that Tyson Fury is receiving a significant payday to work Crown Jewel. It was not confirmed that WWE will be receiving extra money for bringing Fury in.
It was also noted that Fury approached WWE a few years ago, but no deal was made for unknown reasons.
WWE then approached Fury recently and a deal was put together for the match with Strowman.
Tyson Fury’s match with Braun Strowman is said to be a one off for now.
