The coronavirus pandemic had a major impact on the professional wrestling industry, and WrestleMania 37 was extra special because it was the first event in over a year to have fans in attendance.
At this point in time it’s not clear when WWE will have fans in attendance for another event, but over the weekend UFC had a packed house for the UFC 261 pay-per-view at the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville.
WrestleVotes reports that the packed house for the UFC pay-per-view was a hot topic backstage at Monday Night Raw this week. It was noted that not many talents are advocating for 100% capacity, but that nearly everyone feels that live crowds could return at this point in time.
It’s not clear when WWE will allow fans to attend events again, but it was noted during the Q1 2021 earnings call last week that the company is hopeful they will be able to tour again in some form during the second half of the year.
A major topic last night backstage at RAW was the packed house over the weekend at the UFC PPV. While not many superstars are advocating for 100% capacity, nearly everyone feels as tho live crowds could return in some form at this time.
