It’s no big secret that Sting’s career is coming to an end soon as he has declared that he will be wrestling his final match at the Revolution pay-per-view in March. This week on Dynamite, Sting was asked who his final opponent, or opponents could be, and he was interrupted by The Young Bucks as the show went off the air.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that Tony Khan was going to give Sting the choice regarding who he wanted to face and that included pretty much anyone on the AEW roster, or anyone on another roster that he could potentially get access to with.
When Sting was asked who he wanted to face The Young Bucks were his choice because he had fun working with them for the Darby Allin, Sting & Shingo Takagi vs. El Phantasmo & The Young Bucks match at Forbidden Door in 2022.
It was noted that originally The Young Bucks were set to take more time off before returning, but Sting asked them do to the match and they didn’t want to turn it down.
