Sami Zayn has been appearing on SmackDown as the manager of Shinsuke Nakamura and Cesaro for some time now, but fans have been wondering why the former NXT Champion hasn’t been wrestling.
There’s been some speculation that Sami Zayn hasn’t been wrestling due to the shoulder issues he dealt with in 2019, but apparently that’s not the case.
Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that Sami Zayn is not injured, and he was reportedly cleared from his shoulder issues a while back.
Zayn is not wrestling regularly because of a creative decision, and the manager role is what creative has for him right now.
Sami has worked a few multi-man matches at live events, and he also worked a SmackDown multi-man dark match back in September, but there’s currently no word on when he might return to regular in-ring action.
