All Elite Wrestling has gone through a lot of changes over the last few years and several people who were with AEW on day one are no longer with the company. Recently it was reported that Dana Massie, wife of Matt Jackson, who headed up the merchandise department for AEW is set to finish up with the company this weekend.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Dana Massie was offered a new contract, but informed the company back in October that she would be leaving.
One of the issues regarding Dana Massie’s departure is there’s a feeling that even though The Young Bucks signed new contracts because they got great deals AEW never cleared their name publicly, nor did the company allow The Young Bucks to clear their name themselves. Part of Dana’s reason for leaving was her view on how the company treated her husband and brother in law.
AEW never publicly defended The Young Bucks which allowed people to argue that they were at fault for everything blowing up with CM Punk. Massie was the head of merchandise since the company first launched and was involved in early conversations about the company with Matt Jackson and Tony Khan back in 2018.
It’s not known at this point in time what’s next for Dana Massie, but there’s speculation that she could end up getting involved in a new Young Bucks project.
