Brock Lesnar made his surprise return at the Money In The Bank pay-per-view, and he picked his spot wisely. Lesnar waited for 7 other competitors to destroy each other in the Men’s Money In The Bank ladder match, and he made his way down to the ring at the very end then he grabbed the briefcase.
Lesnar’s win made for a shocking moment, and that’s exactly what WWE wanted.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the entire scripting of the match was designed to get heat with the idea that Lesnar was handed another thing without working for it, while the other competitors in the match nearly killed themselves trying to get the briefcase.
The segment was booked to get a surprise pop, and also to help WWE with their ratings.
The feeling was that a surprise Brock Lesnar win would help draw in curious viewers for Raw the next night, and it did.
Brock Lesnar teasing a possible cash in on Monday was also used to keep viewers watching through the third hour of Raw.
Lesnar is expected to announce who he is cashing in during next week’s episode of Raw.
