Last weekend was full of surprises for wrestling fans, and Becky Lynch returned to action when she challenged Bianca Belair for the SmackDown Women’s Championship at the SummerSlam pay-per-view. Lynch won the title when she defeated Belair and she did it in a matter of seconds.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter the idea behind Becky Lynch squashing Bianca Belair at SummerSlam was to get Belair sympathy and turn her into a bigger babyface.
The plan moving forward is for Becky Lynch to be a heel, and the heel turn is something she reportedly requested. It’s expected that the events that took place at SummerSlam will set up another pay-per-view match for Becky.
Becky Lynch is set to return to SmackDown tonight. Stay tuned for updates.
