The annual Royal Rumble premium live event took place on Saturday night and it was action packed from start to finish. Some big names competed in the Royal Rumble matches, but Brock Lesnar did not make an appearance.
Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that Brock Lesnar was originally scheduled for the men’s Royal Rumble match on Saturday night. However, a change was made due to the Vince McMahon lawsuit.
Because the match was already scripted the decision was made to put Bron Breakker in and essentially fulfill the Brock Lesnar role. Breakker reportedly entered the match when Brock was supposed to enter the match, and threw out people Brock was supposed to eliminate.
According to the report Bron Breakker was not originally scheduled for the Royal Rumble, but Brock was supposed to be in the match and WWE needed someone who could fill The Beast’s shoes.
