On Sunday the annual Royal Rumble pay-per-view aired live on the WWE Network, and the 30 man Royal Rumble match main evented the show.
The match featured some interesting moments, as well as the returns of MVP and WWE Hall of Famer Edge.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the men’s Royal Rumble match was put together by Shane McMahon, Jamie Noble, Chris Park (Abyss) and Lance Storm.
Paul Heyman and Brock Lesnar also had input regarding the early part of the match.
Vince McMahon was said to have been heavily involved in the finishing sequence, and not only made the call for Drew McIntyre to win the match, but also the sequence where McIntyre eliminated Roman Reigns last.
