Backstage News On Who Pushed For The Universal Title Match To Open WrestleMania 35

WrestleMania 35 kicked off with a bang on Sunday night, as the first official match on the main card was the Universal Title match.

Seth Rollins challenged Brock Lesnar for the belt, and in the end it was Rollins who slayed The Beast and walked away with the title.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that Paul Heyman and Brock Lesnar both pushed for the Universal Title match to go on first.

Originally Rollins vs. Lesnar was set to take place before the main event, and AJ Styles vs. Randy Orton was supposed to open the show.

Paul Heyman interrupted a segment with Alexa Bliss and Hulk Hogan as he made his way down to the ring before the match, and it’s being reported that Hogan was never told Heyman would be coming out.
