WWE is doing their best to shake things up in attempt to get ratings, and this week on Monday Night Raw the 24/7 Title was introduced.
The title has received somewhat of a mixed reaction from wrestling fans, but it appears that we’ll be seeing a lot more of the belt on WWE programming moving forward.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the 24/7 Title was actually an idea that was pitched by the USA Network.
USA Network was reportedly sending ideas to WWE in an attempt to increase ratings for the third hour of Raw, and one person with knowledge of the ideas said they were all terrible.
The 24/7 idea was apparently the best one, and Vince McMahon knew he had to take one of the suggestions from the network.
Even though the idea is that the title can be defended 24/7, it seems that the plan is to make the belt a big part of Raw’s third hour.
