For a long time it was rumored that WWE had plans to introduce Women’s Tag Team Titles, and a few weeks ago the rumors were confirmed when Vince McMahon announced that the belts would be introduced in 2019.
This week on Raw, Alexa Bliss officially unveiled the belts, and it was announced that 3 teams from Raw and three teams from SmackDown Live will compete to crown the first champions at the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view in February.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that because Raw is always favored as the A show, a team from the red brand will likely be winning the belts at Elimination Chamber.
Sasha Banks & Bayley, Nia Jax & Tamina and The Riott Squad are said to be the likely teams competing in the match on behalf of Raw.
The IIconics, Sonya Deville & Mandy Rose and another face team, possibly Lana & Naomi, or some combination of Charlotte Flair, Asuka & Becky Lynch are likely for the SmackDown side.
