We’re only a few weeks away from WrestleMania 41 and it was recently confirmed that CM Punk, Roman Reigns, and Seth Rollins will be facing off in a triple threat match on the Grandest Stage of Them All.
During last week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown, all three men made their way down to the ring to sign the contract for the big match. As CM Punk was looking through the contract Paul Heyman informed him that his dream will come true, as the triple threat is set to main event WrestleMania 41.
When Heyman told Punk the big news The Second City Saint got emotional and teary eyed. Due to the emotional reaction some fans wondered if CM Punk was legitimately finding out about the main event in real time as SmackDown was airing.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select was recently asked if CM Punk found out he was main eventing while SmackDown was on the air, and he noted that he would be surprised if CM Punk found out as it was happening because almost everything that ends up in a promo like that is scripted. He went on to say that the major story point “was almost certainly scripted.”
If that is the case then it seems that Punk may have been informed prior to the show going live, but Punk’s emotional reaction still made for a big moment.
