Sunday night Big Cass wrestled Daniel Bryan at the Money in the Bank pay-per-view, but not Big Cass is no longer a member of the WWE roster.
The company confirmed his release today with the following statement: “WWE has come to terms on the release of William Morrissey (Big Cass).”
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Vince McMahon called a meeting before SmackDown Live in Toledo, Ohio and fired Big Cass.
At this point details regarding why he was released are unknown, but it’s worth noting that Pro Wrestling Sheet reported last month that Big Cass had gone off script.
Big Cass participated in a segment with a little person dressed up as Daniel Bryan, and Cass was only supposed to hit the little person with one big boot, but he wanted to do more.
Vince McMahon instructed him to stick to the plan, but Big Cass delivered punches to the little person after the big boot.
