Last week WWE shocked the wrestling world once again when the company released a total of 18 Superstars from NXT and the main roster. It was later reported that 4 or 5 of the talents were released because they were not vaccinated. Nia Jax was reportedly among the talents who were released because they weren’t vaccinated, and Jax later issued a statement noting that the company never discussed her vaccination status with her.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that while no one was told that they would be cut if they didn’t get the COVID-19 vaccine, talents were encouraged to get vaccinated. Multiple sources reportedly noted that no one told talents they had to get the vaccine, or that they would be fired if they didn’t.
It’s also being reported that one top star who was not vaccinated was told that they would be less valuable to the company because they wouldn’t be able to go on overseas tours, as main roster talents can’t tour foreign countries unless they are vaccinated.
Stay tuned for updates.
