Backstage News On Vince McMahon Changing Names Of Current Superstars

Vince McMahon officially returned to WWE back in January and it seems that McMahon is back in the creative mix even though he has insisted that he won’t be in the weeds. Over the last few years fans have gotten used to Vince changing the names of certain Superstars, and recently a few wrestlers have been given some interesting nicknames.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that all of the nicknames that were used on the 7/17 episode of Monday Night Raw had to do with a directive that came from Vince McMahon.

The nicknames weren’t pushed as much on the 7/21 SmackDown or the 7/24 episode of Raw, so the belief is that it’s just an idea he had that he may have given up on. WWE will still be using nicknames like Dirty Dom and Big Bronson Reed moving forward, but they won’t be overdoing it to the point where it sounds silly.

How do you feel about the new nicknames that have been introduced on WWE programming? Sound off in the comments below.
