Right now the stars of WWE are focused on the Money in the Bank premium live event, but once that’s over all eyes will be looking ahead to SummerSlam in August. It looks like WWE could be putting a big show together for the event as two title matches are being considered for the card.
According to the Better Wrestling Experience Twitter account WWE is currently discussing the idea of having two NXT title belts defended either at SummerSlam or during SummerSlam week. There’s currently no word on which titles could be defended, but Carmelo Hayes’ NXT Championship and Tiffany Stratton’s NXT Women’s Championship seem to be the two most likely candidates.
SummerSlam is one of WWE’s biggest events of the year and so far no matches have been announced for the card. It’s rumored that Cody Rhodes could be facing Brock Lesnar in a stipulation match at SummerSlam, and a Becky Lynch vs. Trish Stratus match has also been rumored for the card.
Roman Reigns is also being advertised for SummerSlam, so it’s possible that The Tribal Chief could be defending his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship during the show. SummerSlam will take place from Ford Field in Detroit, MI on Saturday, August 5. Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
