Over the last few months a number of notable names have parted ways with WWE, one of which happens to be Tommaso Ciampa. The former NXT Champion had been with WWE for over a decade, but recently issued a statement confirming that he would not be signing a new contract with the company when his deal expired.
In a recent Fightful Select Answers Q&A, Sean Ross Sapp was asked about Triple H’s reaction to Tommaso Ciampa’s departure and he noted that he doesn’t think Triple H was angry as he had heard the departure was amicable.
It was also noted that Tommaso Ciampa was well liked in WWE, and the company kept him involved in a storyline with Ilja Dragunov that made him look good late into his deal with the company.
Following his departure from WWE, Ciampa went on to make his All Elite Wrestling debut during the January 28 episode of AEW Dynamite. He confronted Mark Briscoe then went on to defeat Briscoe to become the new TNT Champion on the January 31 episode of AEW Collision.
