Backstage News On TNT’s Reaction To CM Punk’s AEW Debut

The second episode of AEW Rampage aired live from the United Center in Chicago on Friday night, and the episode will forever be remembered for featuring the return of CM Punk.

CM Punk returned to the world of professional wrestling after 7 years away, and the former WWE Champion has confirmed that he will be working full-time in AEW moving forward.

PWInsider reports that CM Punk’s deal with AEW will still allow him to pursue other opportunities and do acting as well as MMA commentary. It’s also being reported that internally at TNT it’s being seen as CM Punk has joined “their team” and the network is said to be considering ideas for CM Punk beyond AEW.

It’s not clear at this point in time what other ideas TNT could be considering for Punk, but it was also noted that Punk is a massive sports fan which makes him a natural fit.

CM Punk will face Darby Allin at the All Out pay-per-view in Chicago on Sunday, September 5.
